Reclaim Your Power: Run Toward What You Truly Desire
If you’ve been around here a while you know that my mission is to change the fact that over 50% of women leave tech by the age of 35.
Recently, I was asked on a podcast about my career path and how my decision to leave my corporate role could be seen as contributing to that statistic which really made me pause and reflect.
Here’s what I shared: I wasn’t running away—I was running toward something. Toward my passion for coaching women to thrive in this industry.
Far too often, I see women in tech running away—escaping burnout, microaggressions, or the feeling of being unseen or undervalued.
I get it because I’ve been there. I’ve had times in my career where I did want to run away – like when I left Apple in 2018. I was worn out, burnt out, and wrestling with a big dose of impostor syndrome. I felt like I had nothing left to give.
But here’s the thing: when we run away, we give up our power.
My goal now is to help women like you reclaim your power. To shift from running away to running toward what you truly want in your career and life (even if it may be leaving that full time corporate role).
So, I ask you: Are you running away from a situation that doesn’t serve you?
Instead, how might you start running toward what you truly desire? Take a moment to reflect. Sometimes, the first step is simply recognizing the difference.
It can often feel easier to think about what we don’t want — but this week I encourage you to decide what it is you DO want.
I’m here to support you every step of the way as your reclaim your power. Let’s run toward the career and life you truly want, together.
Until next time,
Jossie
