The path to authentic leadership isn’t a cakewalk, especially for us women in the tech industry.

We often encounter pitfalls that could potentially divert our journey. But don’t worry – I’ve been there and walked through the same path.

Today, I want to share some tips on how you can circumvent a few of these hurdles:

• Valuing Relationships: In your journey towards authentic leadership, ensure you’re not just chasing targets but also building meaningful connections. Being genuine in your interactions promotes trust and teamwork.

• Staying True to Your Core: Amid the demands of leadership, never lose sight of who you are. Your unique strengths, values, and feminine superpowers are your differentiators. Leverage them to guide your decisions, actions, and interactions. Embrace your uniqueness – it’s not just acceptable, it’s your advantage.

• Boundary-Setting: Respect for your time and energy is crucial. Clearly communicate your availability and learn to say “no” respectfully when necessary. By doing this you are also teaching your team members to set their own effective boundaries.

• Leading by Walking the Talk: Your actions are your loudest statement. Showcase professionalism, respect, integrity, and ethical behavior to set a positive tone for your team. Cultivating self-awareness and embracing constructive criticism is a good way to show your team what authenticity in leadership stands for.
