Navigating leadership during times of uncertainty

Spring is here in the Bay Area and I’m loving the weather — the lizards are coming out to play in my front yard and the birds are chirping. Over the weekend we celebrated the 102nd birthday for my husband’s grandma (she was a Rose the Riveter during WW2!). I’m taking time to enjoy life, be grateful, and feel fulfilled helping women rise in tech (and recently I’ve started helping folks start their own coaching businesses too which has been so much fun!)

Last week I hosted a LinkedIn Live titled: Navigating Leadership in Times of Uncertainty. It’s a topic that resonates with so many of the women I speak to – dealing with fears of layoffs, the pressures of doing more with less, and the constant dance of organizational change. I wanted to share a few highlights and the replay link in case you missed it.

I spoke about three crucial areas for leading through uncertainty:

  1. Strategies for Doing More with Less: I talked about setting clear priorities, saying no effectively, and empowering your team through delegation. It’s about working smarter, not harder, and ensuring alignment with your values and organizational goals.
  2. Combating Burnout & Building Resilience: Burnout is a real and present danger, and resilience is your best counter. I shared techniques for self-care, emotional resilience, building a support network, and fostering team well-being.
  3. Addressing Fears Around Job Security: The tech landscape is changing, but with change comes opportunity. I explored how to embrace growth, plan proactively, and build your personal brand for increased visibility and opportunities.

I want you to feel like you’re not just surviving, but thriving! So I explored not just the what, but the how – actionable steps you can take to navigate these challenging times with grace and strength.

I’d love to hear what your favorite takeaway from the video is! Feel free to respond and let me know.

Cheers,
Jossie
